Atrium Living Centers is in the healthcare industry and manages a collection of nursing homes. With 4,500 employees at over 40 locations, the payroll department must process multiple pay types and follow many different state regulations. Shelly Jones, a payroll processor at Atrium Living Centers said their previous payroll software provider, “Could not handle the volume of payroll and the facilities that we were purchasing.” Furthermore, Atrium did not have any type of human resource software. The human resource department was having to manually input data, causing human errors and wasted resources. As Atrium had plans to double in size, the company needed to switch to a cost-effective in house payroll solution that could handle their company’s number of employees and FEIN’s.

Support
Shelly says she has developed a quality relationship with her designated support representative. Since the first day that Atrium went live on Optimum’s software, Shelly feels that the support has been, “Great, everyone is always so helpful.” Her experience has been that, not only, does the support team respond in, “30 minutes max, if not immediately,” but also that their answers are always relevant and helpful.
Reports
Shelly has been able to take advantage of many of the reports Optimum software offers. She says she uses the tax report, check history report, birthday and anniversary-by-month reports the most frequently. The high number of different reports help Atrium easily and efficiently process payroll for all 44 of their locations. In addition, the reports are easily customizable if an existing report does not fulfill the companies requirements.
Recommendation
Shelly says she would recommend Optimum Solutions to other companies in the health care industry. “The conversion process was easy and with Optimum’s products we can timely and accurately pay our employees. In addition to great software, the support team is always very helpful and knowledgeable.”
